Before HallelujahOnce upon a time Father Ray Kelly used to frequent talent contests for fun and frolic. This is one of our favorite performances in 1993. The actual song that won the contest was New York New York, a Sinatra classic.
Listen to this rendition of Summertime, from the Porgy and Bess musical. Porgy and Bess is a 1959 (great year!) American musical film directed by Otto Preminger. It is based on the 1935 opera of the same name by George Gershwin. The song is usually sung by a female singer or a duet between male and female actors; Father Ray Kelly takes on both parts with his usual unbelievable range and amazing falsetto.
