Message from Father Ray
For those who don't have Facebook accounts, here is the entire text:
"What a trip down memory lane I had on Monday last as I performed in the Opera House In Cork. As a Civil Servant back in the 70's I spend many hours and days working in Cork in Collins Barracks in the Command Cashiers office filling in on Holiday duty, during those years I would have frequented the Opera House for many shows and pantomimes. Then, in 1983 to 1985 I spent 2 years living in Cork in the seminary, training for priesthood. The seminary was located near Douglas on the Rochestown Rd, and the building is now the Rochestown Park Hotel. So it was lovely to be back in one of my favourite cities.Thank you to all who made my concert at the Opera House so memorable. Thanks to Pat Egan promotions team for organising the event, advertising it and promoting it. The background team at the Opera House were so helpful and courteous all through the event, so thank you guys. James, Andrew, Dave and Brendan were the musicians on the night and they were just magic, creating that special sound for me.After her experience of the National Concert Hall, I knew my niece Tara and got the bug and I was so delighted when she agreed and accompanied me once again, thanks Ta. And having Maria Butterly back on stage again as my special guest was such a joy to have and listen to, she is such a beautiful songwriter and singer. I wish her great success on her wonderful album Blue Mandolin. Gordon my UK manager flew in for the event and was busy promoting my CD's and DVD, so thanks Gordon for all your work. I was delighted to see Paul Connors there again because I knew his camera would be on standby ready to capture some of the show and share it, thanks Paul. After the show, I met so many of my friends from my days in Cork in the 70's and 80's, and ye know they all look younger looking. Hallelujah! Merry Christmas everyone."
